A second music source, and a volume-control fun fact that Spotify still hasn't fixed.
SoundCloud joined Spotify as a second source for songs today, which sounds like a small add-a-provider task and mostly was one, with one genuinely funny wrinkle worth telling properly.
Spotify's embedded player plays at 100% volume with no way to change it, a fact this blog has already complained about once and will probably complain about again. SoundCloud's widget, by contrast, actually lets you set a volume. It's linear rather than logarithmic, so anything above about 15% is still blaring, but "linear and loud" beats "fixed at maximum" by a mile. A small, specific, oddly satisfying win.
